Sergio Cirio has handed Adelaide United a dramatic 2-1 victory over Brisbane Roar in a game which exploded in second half injury time.

Baba Diawara opened the scoring for the home side, heading home at the near post, making the most of some poor set-piece defending from the Roar.

Jamie Maclaren levelled the match for the visitors from close range after Corey Brown made the most of a poor parry from Eugene Galekovic.

Marcelo Carrusca was given his marching orders after kicking the ball following a foul on Brisbane’s Thomas Kristensen, which resulted in him being shown his second yellow card.

Roar goalkeeper Michael Theo also saw red after elbowing Dylan McGowan who grabbed hold of the veteran shot-stopper as he attempted to clear the ball from his area, with ball in hand.
