Casemiro: There is more to Bayern than Robert Lewandowski

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro says there is more to beating Bayern Munich then stopping star striker Robert Lewandowski.

The Poland international missed the first leg between the two sides due to a shoulder injury, as Real came away with a 2-1 victory in Germany.

“Without a doubt, he is a great player,” he told reporters.

“But I have always thought that Bayern have great players all over the pitch, it is just one more player and whoever plays will try to do their best.

“We need to respect them. It is not over yet; they have got quality players who are dangerous. We have a good result but we will continue in the same way and take nothing for granted.

“We will be ready. We want to play. We know what we are going to do.

“We know it is a very difficult game, there is a long way to go and Bayern are a very difficult side. We need the fans to get right behind us and push us on.”

Lewandowski has been in fine form in the Champions League this season with seven goals in eight appearances.

The match is set to kick-off at 4:45am on Wednesday morning AEST.
