Leicester City have once again pulled off the impossible, captain Wes Morgan says.
The unlikely english champions qualified for the last eight of the Champions League on Tuesday night, downing La Liga’s Sevilla 2-0 on the night and 3-2 on aggregate.
Leicester overturned a 2-1 first leg deficit thanks to goals from Morgan and Marc Albrighton.
Kasper Schmeichel denied a late Steven N’Zonzi penalty to keep 10-man Sevilla out and send the Foxes through to the quarter-finals.
Morgan was disbelieving when speaking on television after the match.
“Incredible, I can’t quite believe it. We’re newcomers in the Champions League, we didn’t expect to get this far and here we are,” Morgan told BT Sport.
“I’m not sure this is ever going to happen again, but we did it. We did it and we proved a lot of people wrong.
“It was a big game for us and a big night for everyone involved with Leicester and we’ve pulled off the impossible again.”
“We’ll just take whoever comes (in the quarter-final draw). We’ll enjoy the moment, it’s fantastic night for Leicester.
“Let’s dust ourselves down, we’ve still got to concentrate on the league. But we need to enjoy right now.”
Leicester are guaranteed are glamour tie in the next round, with Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Juventus among the other teams to have progressed.
