Thomas Tuchel says Borussia Dortmund “understand our part” in the Champions League last eight draw, which is to take place on Friday.
Dortmund reached the quarter-finals thanks to a 4-0 win over Benfica a week ago, 4-1 on aggregate, and will accompany Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, FC Barcelona, Leicester City, Juventus and AS Monaco.
But rather than declare Dortmund can win the competition, Tuchel looked to alleviate the pressure on his team, branding them as a challenger.
“I felt affirmed with our statement before our game against Sporting (Lisbon),” Tuchel said.
“That you need four good halves to make it into the next round in the Champions League.
“Otherwise every half can break your neck and you can concede a goal that you chase afterwards.
“The small things are decisive and you have to be awake in both games.
“We’re very happy to be in the draw tomorrow (Friday). We understand our part as challengers and we look forward to the next games.”
Unlike the round of 16 draw, each team is eligibly to play one another.
