Neymar believes he is nearing the end of his best season yet for La Liga giants Barcelona.
The Blaugrana sit at the top of the Spanish top-flight on goal difference and will need a win against Eibar to maximise their chances of claiming the title ahead of rivals Real Madrid.
Superstar playmaker Neymar has enjoyed a stellar individual campaign, however, registering 19 goals and 19 assists across all competitions and he says that the stability of the Barcelona team has allowed him to improve on the pitch.
“This is a great season for me,” he told France Football.
“I even think I have had my best season since I arrived here. I do not know if I have reached a new level, it is hard to have that judgement when you are on the pitch.
“I have always had the same role from my arrival until today – it has not changed. I have always taken responsibility in this team and everyone knows their role.”
The 25-year-old revealed that he still looks to teammate Lionel Messi for inspiration and hopes to one day match the achievements of the ‘Little Master.’
“All I want to do is play with the best players in the world – and the best of all is Leo Messi,” he added.
“I dream of becoming the best. I think I can do it, but calmly and quietly – I am not in a hurry. All the players dream of [the Ballon d’Or] – I hope to win it one day.”
