Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is eyeing off two potential signings this summer, according to a report from ESPNFC.
Antoine Griezmann has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, with Canal+ reporting yesterday that personal terms have already been agreed with a 100m release clause to be triggered by United chief Ed Woodward.
The club has enjoyed an improved season under Mourinho, but it is widely felt that depth in the centre forward position will help to propel United back into Europe’s elite. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been a revelation since joining, but has lacked support in terms of a consistently reliable goalscoring contribution from others.
With only 33 goals in 23 Premier League matches this season, the desire for greater potency in the final third is obvious, especially considering Arsenal and Liverpool’s respective tallies stands at 51 and 52.
Griezmann has netted 15 times for Atletico Madrid this season, and enjoyed a stellar Euro 2016 with France, scoring six times while laying on two assists for team-mates.
Another potential name mentioned is Tottenham’s 23-year-old star striker Harry Kane, but according to the report, United have their reservations as to whether the English international would be allowed to leave North London.
