Adelaide United have announced that midfield star Isaias has signed a three-year contract extension with the club.
The news comes after speculation had arisen of a possible move to Melbourne City for the playmaker, however, he is now locked down by the Reds until the end of the 2019-20 season.
Despite Adelaide’s woes in the current campaign, Isaias believes the club’s foundations will lead to more trophies during his time at Hindmarsh.
“This is a fantastic feeling because it is a long-term contract and it will be very good for my family as well,” said the Spaniard in a statement released earlier today.
“Obviously I’m staying here because I enjoy my life here in Adelaide, but I’m also staying here because I want to get more success and win more titles.
“And this is one of the reasons why I’m staying, because I believe and I trust this club and this team and the style we play and I’m sure of more success in the future.”
The 29-year-old claims that the dedicated Red Army supporters made it a simple decision to remain in South Australia.
“The supporters have always made me feel at home which is another reason why I decided to stay,” he added.
“I feel when I play, wherever I am they make me feel very good and at home and this is very important for me and my way to say thank you to them.”
Head coach Guillermo Amor also expressed his delight at knowing that one of his key assets will remain at Adelaide.
“I think this is a good signing for the club and hopefully this continues,” said Amor.
“Isaías is a very good player and he’s the best in his position in the league, he’s happy here in Adelaide.
“He had offers from other clubs, but he has chosen to stay with us, which is fantastic.
“It’s great for the team, he’s a very good player, a great professional and it’s great news in this moment that he wants to spend more time in Adelaide.”
