Former Liverpool striker: Premier League will tempt Griezmann

Former Liverpool striker Iago Aspas says a move to the Premier League will tempt Antoine Griezmann.

The Atletico Madrid and France star has been heavily linked to Manchester United, with those rumours seemingly never ceasing to ease.

United are said to be willing to pay big money for the 25-year-old – so big that a transfer fee could set a new record and smash that set by the Red Devils’ signing of Paul Pogba barely a year ago.

Despite labelling Atletico as a “great” club, Aspas, who played 14 games for Liverpool, believes a move to England will tempt Griezmann.

“This depends on every player and the team, because if we are talking about great teams, like Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool or Arsenal, it is difficult to say no when you are at a medium-sized club,” Aspas said.

“But Griezmann plays for a great one with Atletico and sometimes it’s not easy to make a decision.”

The former Real Sociedad striker, who joined Atleti for a fee estimated at €30 million on a six-year contract, has scored 53 goals in 98 matches for the Rojiblancos.

He also boasts 39 France caps and 14 international goals.
