Aaron Mooy has been selected in the Professional Footballers Association (PFA)’s Championship Team of the Year.
The Huddersfield Town midfielder, on loan from Manchester City, was picked in the team alongside the likes of Brighton star Anthony Knockaert, former Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey and striker Dwight Gayle.
The 26-year-old was recently named in the English Football League (EFL)’s Team of the Season across all three Football Leagues (Championship, League One and League Two).
Mooy has registered three goals and six assists in 39 appearances for the Terriers.
“He can be proud and the whole team can proud that he is part of our team,” Town boss David Wagner said.
“I think he totally deserved it. For sure, he is one of the most consistent players in our team, and usually if Aaron plays good, then usually the team plays good.
“If Aaron plays very good, then usually the team plays very good.
“He is a player who influences our game a lot. If you know how many miles he travelled, especially in the international breaks, it’s unbelievable how consistently he performs.”
Huddersfield are fourth in the Championship, five points inside the promotion play-off spots.
