Chelsea will not let injury hold back their push to sign Germany and Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus, according to reports in the english press.
The Daily Express suggests the Blues will be made to fork out as much as £70 million to lure the striker away from the Westfalen – that is despite his injury-plagued recent history.
Reus has been ruled out due to injury yet again over the weekend, this time due to torn muscle fibres in his thigh. He is expected to be sidelined until at least April.
However, that hardly seems to be a deterrent for the free-spending Blues, who are runaway leaders at the top of the Premier League.
Arsenal and Liverpool are also believed to be chasing the forward’s signature.
Reus missed Germany’s unsuccessful Euro 2016 campaign due to a more serious injury.
Reus’ Dortmund contract does not expire until June 2019.
He signed for the club from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2012 in a deal worth just €17 million.
The 27-year-old has proven a shrewd acquisition by Dortmund, finding the net 51 times in 119 games.
He is a regular for Germany when fit, scoring nine goals in 29 games at international level.
