Champions League draw: Leicester City handed Atletico Madrid test


Leicester City have been handed a tough test in the Champions League quarter-finals, tasked with defensively dogged Spaniards Atletico Madrid.

The Foxes qualified for the last eight by overcoming another La Liga side, Sevilla, over two legs 3-2 on aggregate. They overturned a 2-1 away deficit.

Atletico will host the first leg, with the return fixture to be played in the english Midlands.

Elsewhere, two heavyweight clashes were set up. Bayern Munich will face Real Madrid, with the Bavarians to play at home first. The clash will see Bayern manager Carlo Ancelotti come up against one of his former clubs.

Juventus and FC Barcelona will meet in a rematch of the 2015 final, which the Catalans won 3-1 in Berlin.

Borussia Dortmund will face AS Monaco in the final fixture. Dortmund will host at Signal Iduna Park first.

The teams will be vying for places in the tournament’s showpiece, which is to be held at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on 3 June.
