Aaron Mooy says he is not thinking about life beyond his loan spell with Huddersfield Town.
The Socceroos midfielder has captured the imagination of english football fans since joining the Terriers on a year-long loan from Manchester City, for whom he signed from sister club Melbourne City last english summer.
Mooy’s performances have so far caught the eye of City boss Pep Guardiola, who heaped praise on the affectionately dubbed ‘Pasty Pirlo’.
“Aaron Mooy is playing amazing this season and we are glad at that,” Guardiola said in February.
“It is not easy coming from Australia and going to the Championship and play as good as he is.
“We are going to consider what will happen at the end of the season but it’s good.”
But despite the attention from his parent club, Mooy insists he has not begun to consider whether his future lies at the Etihad beyond this season.
“It’s obviously nice to be hearing stuff like that from a world class manager,” Mooy told 1116 SEN‘s World of Football program.
“It’s good for my confidence.
“For next season, I’m not really focusing on that at all. Until the end of the season, there’s no point.
“I’m just trying to focus on playing well for Huddersfield and get promotion.
“There’s too much on my mind at the moment to think about next season.”
Mooy has been linked with moves to other Championship and Premier League clubs.
